Romania – Bucharest to Bucovina – Day two

The second day of our journey to the north of Romania was mostly passing by Piatra Neamt and Tirgu Neamt.
In Piatra Neamt we went to the center of the town, where we had the chance to see walk a bit near an old church of St. John the Baptist, the bell tower,  and also very well preserved building (Cucuteni Neolithic Art Museum) on the main square.

Here we searched for this geocache, Visiting Piatra Neamț - Bell Tower, but unfortunately we couldn't find it.
After taking some photos our destination was the cable car, which gave us the opportunity to see the town from above.

It also took us to the Cozla Mountain, where in the winter time people can practise sky, and other sports related with snow.

There the views are magnificent, even if the day was a bit rainy, especially at the moment of our visit.
A geocache was also present on this site, View over Piatra Neamț, but once more I had no luck on finding it, even if this one I'm almost sure that it might be there.

Those were the main views we had from Piatra Neamt, then we went by car some more Kms north. Our first destination was Tirgu Neamt, but passing by two monestaries we decided to have a stop and visit them.
Varatec and Agapia showed us a very well preserved churches, and gardens full of flowers, which from here and north, seemed to be a very common sight.

On Tirgu Neamt we stopped near the house of a famous story writer (mostly for kids) - Ion Creanga.
While the girls went to visit the museum I went to search for a geocache nearby (Casa memoriala Ion Creanga din Humulesti) and this time with sucess.

Next to the museum we have another interesting small park with tools from the living time of the writer and characters from his most famous books. Seems to be a private initiave, but in my opinion a very good one.
Our last stop was on the Tirgu Neamt citadel.

I also went to search for a geocache here, but once more... no luck (Neamt Stronghold). Even so it was nice to discover, a bit, the nearby forest. We had to be very careful here, once the slope is very pronounced.

The journey, almost with all the sunling already away from us, ended in the Gura Humorului, which was our central point for visiting Bucovina.

In two days from Bucharest to Gura Humorului we travelled more than 600Km, stopping in great places, but also missing a lot of sights….
