2000 Founds

It took me almost a year since I had found 1000 caches to achieve the 2000 founds. It wasn’t much for these days, but having in account that the previous 1000 were achieved in about 3 years…

I really don’t know what to say in what concerns to this, once in many aspects my personal satisfaction goes to the fact of finds a great place or to discover a very well elaborated geocache, but at the end we always look into the numbers.

In the last times I’ve seen some several statements where geocachers, some with much more founds than the ones I have, talk about some changes they made in the way to look into this activity, and at the moment I really must pay tribute to them, once we can get much more from this than just numbers.

What are the things I more remember from the last 1000 founds:

·         Many of the caches I’ve found have no meaning, they were just a number, don’t even give me any good or bad memory. Unfortunately some are placed in places where we can’t even have a nice view, or take a photo to remember.

·         My journey, the 1001, started with e memorable cache:  Levada do Coentral [Castanheira de Pêra], in a county with just a few caches, but wonderful landscapes.

·         I went to the highest places in Portugal  Estrela PT - Alto da Torre  (not in the all country, because in Azores we can go higher) and in Romania also visited a cache more than 2000 high     The Grannies & The Sphinx 

·         Some caches I’ve found took me to great natural places, with some friends:    LINHA ESTREITA-NARROW LINE ,    Hold Your Breath ,    "Pena"... se não conseguires... ,    Penedos Altos ( Pena - Aldeia de Xisto ) ,    Peneda Redonda (Pena - Aldeia de Xisto) 

·         I also found caches in 3 new countries: France    Paris CDG Airport TB Hotel  , Bulgaria    Ivanovo Rock Churches  and Hungary    Erdospuszta arboretum and demonstration-house 

·         Went to Romania, met there some very dedicated geocachers and saw wonderful places:    Tampa - Zinne - Cenk ,    The Peles Castle - The lost fountain ,    Mogosa ,    Oaş Land's Open Air Museum  ,    GIRLY CACHE - HUNEDOARA CASTLE ,    Monastirea Sfanta Ana (Saint Ana monastery) ,    Decebalus Rex ,    Hard Rock ,    The shark 

·         Found a cache in my home village, very near the place where I lived my first years:    Pisão - Ribeira da Mata 

·         My family joined me in some great findings:    Foz D'Égua (Piódão) ,    Waterfall from Above ,    Mergulho no Espinho ,    Penedo dos Corvos ,    The Bear Treasure 

·         Wen to the Azores islands: Faial    Horta  and Terceira islands   Tb Hotel (Aerogare das Lages) Terceira 

·         Took some time, and friends help to solve some mysteries:    Hacker.,    ILUSÃO ÓPTICA
