New adventures
Now that the benchmark of the 2000 caches is gone, some new adventures already come in my way.
Last weekend I had the invitation to go to Figueira da Foz, lets say that it is one of the places with more geocaches here in Portugal, once there you can find some of the more active players in our area. No matter how much I try, I'm sure I will never find all the hidden treasures there, but that's great, once I still have escuses to go back once more. Anyway, these friends of mine invited me to go and search fro this 5/5 cache, called
Taphonomy of the Rope.
I was excited with this opportunity, once it isn't a easy one, and even more specially because you have go down a big wall using the rappel skills, which is something completely new for me.
I think that if it wasn't for the geocaching I wouldn't try this new thing, but now that I've experienced it i really enjoyed it.
In my almost 4 years of geocaching most of my findings were done alone, because it's no so easy to have a common schedule with the nearby geocachers, and sometimes I go out to other locations to work, taking all the free moments to find a cache. But these guys in Figueira were just great, helping us all to have this great adventure, we didn't just stayed there and waited for the cache, no, we went into the adventure.
Like in many other situations we find good and not so good people, and in the geocaching it's exactly the same, but it's not a real problem, once we can decide which are our goals, so doesn't matter who's first, who has more, as long as I can achieve my goals and keep all the precious things I have in this life.
Some great photos taken on my way back home, near Figueira da Foz.
